Chester City Walls and Towers
Many of the sites on Chester City Walls are grade I listed as well as a Scheduled Ancient Monument forming one of the most complete city walls in the UK.

Key stages to Chester City Walls conservation over the last six years have included major works to Watergate Bridge, Morgan’s Mount, King Charles’ Tower, The Water Tower, The Roman Garden, Pemberton’s Parlour, Northgate Steps and Barnaby’s Tower. CHBPT works in partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council, archaeologists, architects, artists, designers, skilled craftsmen, engineers and stone masons to ensure the walls continue as a vital legacy for the city.

The Chester City Walls site covers a large area with several miles of walls which are open to the public. Any restoration or emergency work has to follow the overarching plan for the walls which ensure that as much of the walls are open to the public as possible whilst safe working is carried out.
